Eagle Claw Foods: Outdoor Active Wipes

Eagle Claw Foods:
Outdoor Active Wipes
Purpose:
The overall idea of this packaging was to create a visually appealing design for wet wipes that has a cut contour hole and a clear sticker on the top that can be pulled back to take out a wipe. The layout of the design had to be created so that no packaging content text would be torn when being opened or torn further than the sticker.
Target Audience:
The target audience is consumers of other Eagle Claw Food Products ages 13 to 17 and adults of all ages. They love being outdoors going on hikes, bike rides, camping, always on the go, and more.
Software Used:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
Hardware Used:
Lenovo IdeaPad3, Logitech Wireless Mouse, Roland TruVIS VG3-540, iPhone 14
Process:
To create the design of the package, assets, styles, color swatches, and typefaces were used in congruence with other Eagle Claw Foods products on a provided die-line Adobe Illustrator. The mountains were arranged at the center to show that there is no limit to where the wipes can be brought with one and the trail across the package shows that they can be brought on a simple flat hiking trail. The Eagle head, claws, and fireworks were arranged to show freedom and patriotism. The trees and placement of all the different graphics create a deep depth of field. A Cut contour color swatch was used to cut out a hole from which the wipes could be pulled out. The design was printed on a gloss material using a Rolan TruVIS VG3-540 to create the feel of a wet wipe package. The nutritional facts and information were created following FDA Guidelines. All images were free to use by Freepik.
Problem-Solving:
The first challenge was creating a mockup using a provided PSD mockup file. When the PDF was placed on the front of the package, the cut-out of the hole was below the mountains and in the trees. This was different compared to the physical product and Adobe Illustrator file. To solve this, a different mockup PSD file was used so that the cut contour hole would be at the bottom of the mountains and the tops of the trees.

The second challenge was creating a mockup for the back of the packaging. There was a gap between the two halves of the back design. This problem was solved by creating a solid-colored rectangle one to two inches matching the color of the dirt.
